Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes or repositions the ears so they sit closer to the head, creating a more balanced and natural appearance. What Is Otoplasty?
Otoplasty—commonly referred to as ear pinning surgery—is a cosmetic procedure designed to correct prominent, asymmetrical, or misshapen ears. At Kian Aesthetic Institute, we perform otoplasty on both children and adults to improve ear positioning, restore facial balance, and enhance self-confidence.

Ear Pinning Surgery
After surgery, a soft dressing is placed over the ears and a protective bandage is wrapped around the head to maintain the new position and minimize swelling. Once the bandages are removed—usually after a few days—a headband is typically worn at night for continued support during healing.
Most patients can return to school or work within one week. However, strenuous physical activities, contact sports, and heavy lifting should be avoided for at least 3–4 weeks. Dissolvable sutures are often used, meaning no follow-up removal is necessary.
The procedure is very well tolerated and is typically not painful. Children, teens, and adults often report a smooth recovery with minimal discomfort, and many patients see a significant improvement in their self-confidence shortly after healing.
