Face Lift: What is it and The Benefits

  • A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure aimed at rejuvenating the face by reducing visible signs of aging. This comprehensive approach addresses sagging skin, deep creases, and loss of muscle tone in the mid to lower face and neck. At Rejuva Medical Aesthetics, the goal is to achieve a refreshed and natural appearance that reflects the patient's youthful vitality. Dr. Kian Karimi utilizes advanced techniques to lift and reposition underlying tissues, remove excess skin, and tighten facial muscles. The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia, with incisions strategically placed along the hairline and around the ears to conceal scars within the natural contours of the face. Recovery involves some swelling and bruising, which generally subsides within two to three weeks. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous activities during this period. The results are long-lasting, offering a more youthful and rested appearance that enhances self-confidence.

  • Not only does a facelift tighten and smooth the skin, it also offers the following transformative benefits:

    • Restores Youthful Appearance: Lifts sagging skin and enhances contours, making you look years younger.

    • Improves Facial Contours: Defines the jawline, cheeks, and neck for balanced, natural-looking results.

    • Boosts Confidence: Enhanced appearance leads to increased self-esteem and satisfaction.

    • Long-Lasting Results: Provides enduring improvements that help you age gracefully.

    • Customizable: Tailored to meet your unique aesthetic goals for natural, beautiful outcomes.

  • Following facelift surgery, patients typically begin the recovery at an aftercare facility or at home with the assistance of a qualified nurse. The following day, Dr. Kian examines the incisions to ensure they are beginning to heal correctly and there are no signs of infection. Once this is done, patients can recover in their own home. Between that time and one-week post-surgery, patients are checked again then return to have their stitches removed.

Most patients take up to two weeks off from work to allow the incisions to heal and swelling and bruising to diminish. At this point, makeup camouflages any leftover bruising or redness. During the initial healing, there is only slight discomfort and tightness in the neck. These issues resolve themselves within a week.
